About this service
My Socrates is an educational research tool that supports learning through guided dialogue. It is provided for teaching and evaluation purposes and is not a substitute for instruction, assessment, or professional advice.
Accounts and access
- Accounts are created by invitation or enrollment. Keep your credentials to yourself and do not share access with others.
- Roles determine what you can do: students take part in dialogue and practice; instructors manage course materials and see class-level insight; administrators manage the service.
- Attempting to reach data or functions outside your role is not permitted.
Demo and evaluator passes
- Demo access is granted after review, is temporary, and is limited in session length and message count.
- A pass is intended for one person and one session at a time. Sharing or reusing a pass may cause it to be revoked without notice.
- Demo environments use sample content only. Do not enter personal, confidential, or identifying information.
Acceptable use
- Do not upload material you lack the right to use, or content that is unlawful, harassing, or harmful.
- Do not attempt to disrupt, overload, probe, or circumvent the service’s security or rate limits.
- Do not use the service to generate work you present as your own in violation of your institution’s academic integrity rules. The dialogue is designed to develop your reasoning, not to produce submittable answers.
AI-generated content
Responses are generated by third-party AI models and may be incomplete or incorrect, even when grounded in course materials. Verify claims against your assigned readings and your instructor’s guidance before relying on them.
Content and ownership
Instructors retain responsibility for, and rights in, the course materials they upload. You retain what you write. By using the service you allow it to process your text as needed to provide the dialogue, practice, and reflection features described in the privacy page.
Availability and changes
The service is offered as-is, without warranty, and may change or be unavailable during development and maintenance. Access may be suspended where use appears to breach these terms.
